Renewable
Haute Surface is made from 100% granulated cork, a by-product of the wine stopper industry. Cork is the bark harvested from the Cork Oak. The bark is harvested every six years from mature oaks. The Cork Oak forests are responsibly managed and independently certified by FSC (Forest Stewardship Council). The Cork Oak's bark will grow and yield new cork throughout the lifetime of the tree.
Biodegradable / Compostable
Cork will biodegrade safely under the right set of conditions, as it is a plant product. In addition, Haute Surface can be shredded and put in a composting bin or buried to biodegrade over time.
Recycled Content
The granulated cork used in Haute Surface is 100% pre-consumer waste, as it comes from the waste by-products of the wine stopper industry. The waste is collected from the wine stopper production lines and ground down to be used as cork board, coasters and other commercial applications.
Design
Modular design allows for flexible use in various settings and in varying quantities. This extends the products life span and increases its utility.
Origin
Made in the United States from Portuguese Cork.
