Shroom Lights are crafted from wool felt, a material with untapped functional and aesthetic potential. Our design showcases the beauty, structure, and tactile qualities of this natural, biodegradable material by reimagining it in an unexpected application.

Industrial Craft

The processes used by millineries to create form and function offered a unique platform for reimagining this industrial craft for a new century. From the use of renewable, compostable materials and the inspiring shapes of hat blocks to the reliance on steam and human power, each step demonstrated the potential of repurposing industry to emphasize sustainability and community in design.

Use a steamer for 20-30 seconds on the dented area, then gently reshape the wool shade by hand. Once dry, it will hold its corrected shape.
Shroom Lights use an E26 socket, compatible with most bulbs up to 115 watts. We recommend using LED bulbs with outputs between 400-1000 lumens, as Shroom Lights are intended for ambient lighting.
Align the binding pockets with the base, then carefully insert each wire into the binding pockets.
